The lovely K. Kennedy bought my then girlfriend and me tickets to a concert in Madison, WI. I think it might be the single best live music experience I've ever had (although Beck in a small club in Hamburg, Germany, and Leo Kottke and Lyle Lovette and His Large Band at the Leid Center in Lincoln, NE, are right up there).

And Dylan, as for your advice to your readers about using iTunes . . . I would turn right around and scold you for ever using a proprietary format. You're sending this thing out into the world. You have lots of devoted readers. The least you could do is attempt to be a little more universal. That being said, I have yet to see an organizational tool for digital music files as well-built or as easy to use as iTunes--although Songbird is looking very promising.

Continued thanks for your hard work, sir.shhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12176978203253514796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9925901.post-1162868756356760322006-11-06T21:05:00.000-06:002006-11-06T21:05:00.000-06:00I'm with you, Dylan....although i'll go a step fur...I'm with you, Dylan....although i'll go a step further and declare these guys my favorite US band, which pretty much started the moment Georgia starting singing leads on their records, and James McNew became a permanent member. I love the fact that they can go in any musical direction with ease [and skill], and you nailed it....their covers are fantastic [Needle Of Death [Jansch] and For Shame Of Doing Wrong [Thompson]] are two of my faves, among dozens. Couple that with live stuff i've heard with members of the Sun Ra Arkestra playing with them, and there doesn't seem to be a ceiling on this band. Oddly enough, not crazy about their live shows....though i've never seen two that were remotely alike.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9925901.post-1162733100109370152006-11-05T07:25:00.000-06:002006-11-05T07:25:00.000-06:00Those links aren't broken; they're links to .m4a f...Those links aren't broken; they're links to .m4a files. If you aren't using iTunes, you probably can't download them because .m4a is a proprietary file extension. If I get around to it in the next few days, I'll try to repost them as .mp3 links. If not, you should be using iTunes.Dylan Gaughanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00450496248701505386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9925901.post-1162731025173089002006-11-05T06:50:00.000-06:002006-11-05T06:50:00.000-06:00I think there are a couple of broken links on the ...I think there are a couple of broken links on the downloads--"You Tore Me Down" and "By the Time It Gets Dark."

Thanks!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9925901.post-1162272307081112552006-10-30T23:25:00.000-06:002006-10-30T23:25:00.000-06:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
